How To Install A T Molding
How to install t-molding on the edge of a desk?
I'g making my own desk, I volition exist using this melamine board for the elevation. I would like to install t-molding effectually the edge, which I will purchase from this website and I was wondering how on earth you install this.
How do you go that notch in the forest? Is this something that you lot tin can do with a few tools or is it the kind of thing you lot need a workshop to exercise? And if it is too complicated for a beginner to DIY, what blazon of business would I phone call to do it for me?
Thanks for your time.

You would need to use a router with a bit and just notch out the groove.
You lot may want to consider using iron on edging too?
level two
Fe on edging is just flat melamine, right? I suppose I could do that, just I recollect the rounded edge of t-molding makes it expect a lot nicer.
How would you go the line perfectly directly along the whole edge of the lath with a router?
From doing some googling, I found this. Is a "slotting cutter" what I would desire?
Thanks for your response.

Go with a 19mm x 38mm (3/4" x one 1/two") oak or maple nosing.
Mucilage and smash (finishing nails) information technology onto the edge. Fill nail holes with putty. Sand & Varnish.
This will cost you the same or even less if you lot do non accept the correct tools to create a dado in the melamine's edge

I second SeniorDiscount - nosing is Easy to install, and if yous screw it up, you just cut a new piece and install it. Routing out a dado wouldn't be a good idea for the first use of a router. Maybe you know somebody with a table saw that could help yous out? The blade kerf as mentioned above would also piece of work very well.

I've used a table saw to make that notch earlier.

This is also a good method. Doesn't sound like OP has one, but I bet he knows someone who does

I was thinking virtually that, but for a big desk, how would y'all mount that to get it to go in a straight line? I can kind of meet it working with some other pieces of wood clamped to the table saw as a guide, is that how you would do it?
